A talent, brand and careers aficionado, Susan has worked and consulted with start-ups, high-growth and mature companies around the world. She leads organizations and individuals to create powerful talent strategies and employer and personal brands.
The founder of Exaqueo, Susan challenges start-up and high growth organizations to rethink the way they find, hire and manage talent. She also coaches individuals on personal brand and career development.
Susan’s worked inside and consulted for some of the most renowned global brands including The Ritz-Carlton, The Home Depot, Marriott and Arthur Andersen. More importantly, she’s recognized for the results of her work. In 2011 she was named a top 100 influencer in HR and a top 100 HR/Recruiting Industry pro. In 2012 she was named a Top 100 Branding Expert.
An expert in social recruiting, Susan’s been studying social media and its impact since the early 2000s. She’s been blogging for over ten years and microblogging for four. In 2012, the social media strategy for Human Resources that Susan spearheaded at Marriott International was named #1 in social media for HR by Fortune Magazine.
Work’s always been in Susan’s blood. She got her first W-2 at the tender age of 14 and hasn’t stopped working since: lifeguard, head cashier, customer service manager, waitress, after-school aide, admissions marketer, camp counselor, orientation leader, cold caller, swim teacher, babysitter, PR intern and peer counselor. And that was all before she finished college.
Known for her engaging and influential presentations, Susan’s spoken to hundreds of audiences from C-level executives to college students. She’s also shared sound bytes with media all over the world including the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, the New York Times, The Washington Post and many more.
Three degrees, fifteen years and two books later, her coffee-induced work ethic is spurred by new music and a splash of Philadelphia-born honesty. She currently works and lives with her fiancée in Old Town, Alexandria, (old = 1749) just over the bridge from Washington, DC.
