As a product of a family of educators, I witnessed from a very young age the impact words can have on people. I admired my parents’ ability to craft a message (or in their case...a curriculum) that would gain their students’ attention. It’s why I ultimately pursued a degree in mass communications because I was eager to use my writing skills to make a difference in the lives of others, just like my family did.
I spent the bulk of my career working for a supermarket chain, known for its customer service and being one of Fortune’s Best Places to Work. What started as a part-time job to earn some extra money turned into a full-time passion for the brand and its people-first mindset. This is the type of environment I believe all employers should strive to build. I love employer branding because it focuses on building a culture that employees are proud to represent and one that candidates are eager to join. In addition to my interest in messaging and storytelling, I’ve always enjoyed helping others. I can’t think of any industry that combines my passion for writing and people the way talent acquisition does.
Outside of work, I spend time with friends, family, and my fur-children: Lucy and Thor. I’m a lifetime Floridian and have never lived more than an hour away from a beach. Binge-watching Netflix and Hulu shows are my favorite pastime -- who wants to wait a full week to watch the next episode of their favorite show anymore? As an avid reader, I’m always accepting recommendations on what book to add to my shelf next.
