Employer branding wasn’t even a blip on my radar when I graduated from college with dual degrees in History and Nonprofit Administration & Development, but there is a surprising degree of overlap between these fields that at first glance seem disparate. History is all about understanding connections and the way that individual stories play into larger ones. It’s full of research, psychology, and analysis. Kind of like a good employer brand discovery session!
Nonprofit Administration & Development is about utilizing good business, people and marketing strategies (on a shoestring budget) to unite people around a common cause and make a meaningful impact. Do you see the parallels?
As a new grad I didn’t, but as my career unfolded and I moved from healthcare to the travel industry, it’s become increasingly apparent that thoughtful analysis and creative intentionality in the employer brand space are needed now more than ever before in order for organizations to achieve their goals. My favorite part of serving on the team at exaqueo is the fun challenge of helping a wide variety of businesses do just that.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids outdoors. We especially love camping, hiking, swimming, picking wild berries, and photographing wildlife.
